This position will interface and provide executive staffing consultation to Microsoft’s Law and Corporate Affairs leadership team, driving staffing strategy and owning recruiting for a range of senior/ complex/ critical corporate positions. Microsoft’s Law and Corporate Affairs (LCA) organization is a diverse team of professionals focused on a simply stated mission: To earn, day after day, the public's trust and build our company's enduring value. In addition to paralegals and attorneys, the LCA team includes professionals in areas such as government affairs, community affairs, intellectual property and licensing, corporate governance and compliance, and global citizenship. This position will drive specialized staffing programs with a strong emphasis on acquiring diverse talent, to address the unique needs of this client organization. This position will work with internal and external partners such as central sourcing, agencies, research companies, as well as handle direct sourcing to meet the staffing plan. Previous executive search, internal staffing strategy management, and demonstrable success in executive relationship management are required.
Primary responsibilities include:
Team Management
Manage a small team of 1-3 direct reports including contingent staff and vendor relationships.
Develop a respectful, team-oriented work environment focused on exceeding client expectations.
Provide feedback, mentorship and guidance to direct reports for career path planning and execution of daily responsibilities.
Collaborate with CBHR staffing managers to develop and deliver on shared goals and budget targets, participating fully in team management forums. Ensure team makes solid business decisions regarding candidate costs including approving candidate offers as appropriate.
Monitor metrics, budgets and other indicators to ensure success.
Staffing consultation
Develop, drive and execute comprehensive search strategies designed to recruit senior and niche candidates in limited candidate spaces including driving a business plan which is geared at building competitive research, finding diverse talent pools, industry profile development, networking and direct sourcing.
Own executive searches for LCA including sourcing, offering and closing of senior and executive candidates with special emphasis on LCA executive engagement and account management.
Requirements:
BA/BS degree in business, communications, human resources or related discipline and/or equivalent work experience: 6-9 years of related Recruiting experience preferably serving the legal community.
Demonstrated success in all aspects of team leadership, including a passion for developing internal talent, preferably in a staffing organization.
Deep understanding of talent acquisition and its relationship to talent management internally
Passion for placing senior candidates, preferably within the professional services area.
Impeccable account management skills with specific emphasis on executive communication skills, strategic thinking and responsiveness.
