Position Purpose: Has dual responsibility for leading Employment Branding and College Program initiatives. The main focus of Employment Branding will be to develop and expand sourcing channels that create awareness and interest in Vail Resorts jobs and ultimately conversion of applicants to hires. The main focus of the College Program will be to develop the infrastructure for the program and enable/institutionalize it as a primary sourcing channel for Vail Resorts.
Job Responsibilities:
Employment Branding:
· Manages the creation and implementation of enterprise wide employment brand strategy.
· Responsible for execution of brand through: project management, communication and forming/maintaining relationships with important internal (HR, Marketing, IS) and external (3rd party agencies) partners.
· Expected deliverable includes expansion of sourcing channels resulting in increased applicant awareness, interest, application and conversion. This will be accomplished through the development of candidate segmentation, vehicle and media recommendations, timing and metrics management. Channels include (but are not limited to) email campaigns, recruitment collateral development, Internet (social networking, blogging, webboards and networking), web site development (www.skijob1.com, plus other corporate micro-sites) and “walk-up” applicants.
· Ensures consistent messaging and positioning of Vail Resorts, Inc. employment brand; ensures that all “product” meets corporate marketing and legal guidelines.
· Develops methodology and process for clients to access branding/advertising components as needed.
College Program:· Manages project team to build the infrastructure of Vail Resorts enterprise wide College Program (internship; roughly 5000 students). This includes development of program guidelines, content, support materials, training programs, communication & change management strategy, etc.· Creates master alliance strategy to determine which Universities should be in-scope and partnered with. Establishes and builds relationships with those Universities’ career/intern centers to promote Vail College Program as “internship of choice.” Ensures Vail College Program is compliant with University standards. · Develops and manages campus recruiting strategy including (but not limited to) setting up and managing recruiting events (job fairs, classroom and group/functions), media campaigns to drive applicant awareness and traffic, and execution of candidate management and interview process. · Works with local HR Directors and other key constituents to determine internship needs by resort (headcount, breakdown by position, housing availability, etc.) for rollup into a master workforce plan. · Works with Director of Housing and local HR Directors to secure housing for College Program. · Manages the execution of “shared” training and seminar programs for the College Program including onboarding/orientation, “The Business of Vail,” “College Program Leadership Program,” and “College Program Career Development.”
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years marketing and branding experience with demonstrated knowledge of employer branding, preferably with a large matrix organization and/or recognized recruitment advertising agency.
- Minimum 2 year experience managing campus recruitment programs and relations.
- Superior written and oral communication competence – persuasive and influential, clear, concise and creative.
- Demonstrated market research and analysis experience including developing models, scenarios and recommendations.
- Demonstrated professional project management experience.
- Deep knowledge of Internet marketing strategies and platforms (web design, email campaigns, micro-sites, blogging, social networks, banner and click traffic, etc.)
- Strong collaborator with ability to engage multiple constituents: relationship building and maintenance.
- Experience managing 3rd party agencies (advertising) and institutions (Universities).
- Effective and creative problem solver who takes ownership and initiative to get desired results in an effective and diplomatic manner.
- Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
- Expert experience in PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Basic design tools knowledge.
- Bachelors degree in marketing, business or related field.
