Purpose of the Job/Principal Responsibilities:The Recruiting Manager manages all day-to-day staffing and recruiting activities of the Kaplan University, ensuring that management and employees receive maximum support. Typical activities for the Recruiting Manager include:·         Hire, train, manage and retain a high caliber Human Resources recruiting team. Coach all staff members to deliver outstanding recruiting and staffing services for KU.·         Administer recruitment strategies for KU. Develop and implement recruitment plans and procedures for staffing as assigned by the Director and management; assist in development and implementation of new strategies and procedures to support the current and future hiring needs.
  • Lead all recruitment efforts for exempt, non-exempt, and temporary personnel for the Phoenix location. Partner with business unit managers to manage recruiting and staffing needs. 
  • Research most efficient and cost effective open job placements including all advertising media, internet recruiting, job fairs, college recruitment, agencies, and guerilla recruiting to meet staffing needs.
  • Maintenance of all required pre and post hire employment documentation. Responsible for meeting departmental record keeping standards and all compliance objectives including continual update of shared New Hire tracking document and Headcount report.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations concerning employment and the interviewing process. Standardize interviewing process.
  • Champion a Diversity program for Kaplan University; liaison with the corporate Diversity unit.
  • Champion a Kaplan University retention program. Work in partnership with executive management to analyze needs, research and suggest solutions to reduce turnover. Create and manage program working with hiring managers and HR managers to roll out company-wide.
  • Partner with other HR staff members to cross train as necessary and build a cohesive team.
  • Participate in HR department staff meetings, development of department goals, objectives, and systems.
·         Coordinate with HR Coordinator on maintaining the Human Resource Information System records and creating reports from database.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as required and assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:

Position requires considerable knowledge of principles and practices of staffing and recruiting administration, highly effective oral and written communication, and negotiation skills. Requires exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills with applicants, employees and management.

Experience required:
  • A bachelor's degree and three (3) to five (5) years of staffing and management experience, OR seven (7) plus years of experience in the HR field, primarily in staffing with increasing responsibilities.
  • 3 years of Management or team leader experience in a results driven environment.
  • Experience using recruiting software and internet posting boards.
  • 2 years of proven successful recruiting in a high volume environment
  • Experience in Post Secondary Education or Call Center/telemarketing organization
  • Human Resources certification (SPHR or PHR) preferred.
  • Min 3 years experience working within numerous Job boards & Databases including but not limited to Monster, Jobing.com, Yahoo, Brassring and the Internet recruiting

The Recruiting Manager will be evaluated based on (a) meeting position requirements, (b) meeting recruiting and staffing goals, and (c) providing outstanding customer service.

  

Position Requirements /Scope of the Job/ Skills Required:

·         Must be able to work some evening and weekend shifts·         Must be able to travel to both Florida sites and Chicago campuses and local job fairs·         Ability to have a professional appearance and communicate eloquently and positively in person, via telephone, and e-mail.·         Ability to follow standard processes, work effectively on a team, and maintain a positive attitude
