Description
Position Overview: Achievement First is seeking an action-oriented and hands-on Teacher Recruiter to execute recruitment and selection strategies to attract and retain the nation’s top teaching and school leadership talent for Achievement First schools in Connecticut. Reporting to the Director of School Leader and Teacher Recruitment and working in partnership with other Teacher Recruiters, this person will travel locally and nationally to recruit talent and will also guide strong candidates through the selection and hiring process.
Responsibilities:
· Implement recruitment programs aimed at attracting the nation’s top teachers and school leaders to Achievement First schools in Connecticut
· Collaborate with the Director of School Leader and Teacher Recruitment and fellow Teacher Recruiters to reach Achievement First’s recruitment goals
· Identify new opportunities for outreach and act as a representative of Achievement First at targeted events
· Schedule and conduct phone interviews with applicants, guiding prospective teachers and school leaders through the application process with unwaveringly high levels of customer service
· Assist the Talent Leadership Team and school principals in the selection of new teachers and school leaders
· Undertake special projects as requested by the Talent Leadership Team.
Qualifications:
- Direct teaching experience and/or school leadership experience in a high-performing school setting
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in education or recruitment; 1-2 years of teaching experience preferred
- Strong customer service-based approach to recruiting and relationship-building
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including experience delivering presentations to diverse constituent groups
- Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced, detail-oriented and results-driven environment
- A passion for and commitment to the work of high-performing charter schools
- The ability to travel to recruitment events required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required
