Ryder System, Inc. a Fortune 500 provider of leading-edge transportation, logistics and supply chain management solutions worldwide - is currently seeking a Director of Recruiting Services to provide management and oversight to the full cycle exempt recruitment process for one of its nation-wide divisions. This includes the management of a staff of 10+ recruiters responsible for filling an average of 800 exempt positions annually.
Ryder is a $6.6 billion dollar business with more than 28,000 employees providing transportation and supply chain management solutions to more than 15,000 customers in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Understanding the procedures in place for the identification, recruitment, and selection of applicants for exempt employment.
- Working with line executives and other staff executives to improve these procedures, keeping the procedures focused on the core business of the division and on Ryder's customer service standards, and in compliance with all relevant laws.
- Working to improve recruiting procedures across the division and to apply best practices from one area to another, ensuring consistency of message throughout the division; to this end, will develop procedures that are consistent with the corporate talent management strategy and will be a key contributor in improving and developing this strategy.
- Networking, Sourcing, and recruiting executive-level talent for the division nationwide.
- Working closely with other human resources professionals to ensure appropriate compensation packages are developed, approved, and communicated throughout the division.
- Managing the details of employment negotiations and offers, including the review and approval of offer letters.
- Assisting Ryder in fulfilling its objectives to advance Diversity hiring.
- Ensuring metrics and goals are on target.
Position Requirements:
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in managing a large corporate recruiting function with, at a minimum, exposure to the other functional areas and competencies found in the human resources departments of large US corporations.
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent related experience.
- Must have the knowledge and experience necessary to effectively manage the recruitment process across the division and the country.
- Must have a strong knowledge of employment law.
- Must be an individual with high standards who requires little direct supervision and who consistently takes the initiative to meet and exceed his/her goals and objectives.
