Summary:
In this position, the individual is accountable and responsible for performing the full cycle of recruiting activities including sourcing, identifying, interviewing, tracking, negotiating, on-boarding and reporting. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of, and experience in sourcing candidates for beginning hourly through senior level experienced positions. The Senior Recruitment Specialist will present the company to potential candidates as an employer of choice. The individual will effectively work with management to ensure client satisfaction throughout the full cycle of recruiting. This individual must have a demonstrated record of quickly learning the nature of the client's business, determining the organizational dynamics and needs and facilitating the process through own and others efforts. The individual acts as a consultant to the Human Resources generalists who work with their business managers regarding job profiles, nature of work, competency level requirements, etc. This individual should be able to advise on organizational and market conditions, both present and evolving that will influence the recruiting process. In addition, maintain up to date knowledge of employment related laws that affect the recruitment and employment processes.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Identify and develop relations with organizations and other sources that will yield opportunities to interface with potentially qualified candidates while marketing CenterPoint Energy as an employer of choice. Source external candidates through various recruitment activities such as cold calling, industry contact, highly developed networks and innovative strategies.
Develop relations and participate in organizations that will allow opportunities to network with individuals who have experience and knowledge in specific fields/disciplines related to the energy delivery industry or other professions utilized in the company.
Utilize technology and the appropriate e-recruiting techniques that will facilitate identification of potential candidates to fill open positions.
Develop and maintain professional working relations with internal clients that will facilitate effective, consistent and easy to manage "requisition open to close" staffing support.
Strategically recruit for candidates where they will most likely seek employment opportunities. Use sourcing techniques that also facilitates identifying the passive candidates.
Ensure internal clients receive necessary and appropriate knowledge to effectively interview and process referred candidates. As required, provide guidance to make certain mangers are prepared to interview candidates within the constructs of employment laws and are equipped with the tools to do so. Develop and maintain training for hiring managers to ensure a smooth, effective and compliance oriented recruiting process.
Utilize current recruitment processes, systems and procedures to close the initial "on-boarding process". Maintain compliant job files that include up to date records of all recruitment, selection and staffing process activities.
Participate in diversity recruitment initiatives; integrate efforts with college recruiting and other recruitment processes.
Develop and manage key metrics for effective recruiting practices.
Education:
Bachelor degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related discipline from an accredited four-year university required.
Experience:
Minimum 5+ years of experience in proactively recruiting and sourcing for qualified candidates. Must have worked in a corporate environment, while recruiting for various types of exempt and non-exempt positions.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, Certifications, and Licenses:
Must have a fundamental knowledge of employment related laws and EEO regulations that affect the recruitment and placement processes.
Must be proficient in the use of various software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must have experience and knowledge in the use of applicant tracking systems, such as SAP E-Recruit or similar systems.
Physical Requirements:
Normal office environment
Some travel maybe required to support recruitment efforts
