The Director of Recruiting is a member of the HR Center of Excellence leadership team.  The Director develops, leads and executes recruiting strategies that are aligned with the companies’ strategies, missions, and values to drive the recruitment, selection and hiring of qualified diverse talent globally. The Recruiting Director is responsible for the development of the recruiting strategy for all Collective Brands business units, working in partnership with the business unit recruiting teams for execution.  The Recruiting Director will deliver value in building and enhancing a dynamic recruiting approach that includes high talent quality, expanded external networks and recruiting sources, managing acquisition speed and optimizing recruiting spend. The Director will manage diversity and inclusion recruitment initiatives in alignment with corporate strategies while ensuring legal compliance and fiscal responsibility.

Essential Functions

Recruitment Strategies:
The Recruiting Director is responsible for developing and executing the recruiting strategies for the enterprise. The Director will assess, evaluate and standardize recruiting plans, processes and procedures to optimize the recruiting team and increase value in all networking and sourcing relationships, client communications, and identification of candidates.

Workforce Planning:
The Recruiting Director is responsible for developing, leading and successfully executing the recruiting strategy to ensure commonality of processes related to recruiting as well as effective recruiting processes and programs that attract highly qualified and diverse candidates. This position will partner and build relationships with senior leaders, hiring managers and HR partners in order to identify and fill talent gaps across the organization. Creates and evaluates budgets, forecasts and other requirements/issues related to recruiting. Promotes a culture of teamwork and execution; develop team-oriented behavior by positive leadership, providing information and resources, involving others in planning and decision making.  This leader will be successful if they value collaboration and partnership with members of the HR team and leaders across the organization.

University Relations Strategies:
The Recruiting Director develops university relations strategies to fill strategic talent gaps at the entry level; selects key universities and builds relationships to gain top talent for internships and permanent positions.  The Recruiting Director also manages the university relations and intern programs by overseeing program design, implementation and program management as needed and required. Acts as subject matter expert and ensures program consistency by providing counsel and guidance to business leaders and managers, senior HR team members, and HR professionals in the field. Acts as lead on various HR initiatives related to recruiting process improvements. Participates in cross-business and -functional projects as assigned.

Global/International Recruiting:
The Recruiting Director is responsible for developing and executing a global recruiting strategy.  The Director will develop a sophisticated global recruiting strategy that provides seamless recruiting through enterprise-wide, shared processes and systems.  In addition to the alignment of systems and processes, the Director will identify “in-country” search vendors and networks to facilitate the global hiring process.

Team Management & Partnering:
Provides leadership and management to recruitment staff for full life-cycle recruitment to include candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, background checking, and offer negotiation. Oversees report generation. Determines trends associated with hiring on a timely basis, diversity, quality of hires and cost per hire. Analyzes data and provides direction to those responsible for recruiting for adjustments and improvements. Leads and directs the entire recruitment team, including FT, PT and contract workers. Utilizes metrics for recruitment operations to maximize and align resources, analyzes effectiveness of sources of hire, evaluates and develops recruiters skill set, monitors recruiting activity and requisition volume to determine areas of opportunity. Promotes cross functional and collaborative recruiting to ensure recruiters are challenged beyond personal comfort zone and that innovative and diverse recruiting strategies are initiated.

Sourcing & Vendor Management:
Build and execute a strategic candidate sourcing strategy, including: Agency Search, Print and Internet job postings, job fairs and trade recruiting. Develops relationships with vendors and negotiate contracts and generate agreements to optimize the use of professional networks. Develops and manages the interactions and relationships with vendors.  

Budget:
Prepares and manages budgets and annual operating plans. Forecasts and manages the recruiting budget to ensure both short-term and long-term strategies and tactics are properly funded and resourced.  Supports all project and program development using a continuous improvement and return-on-investment model.
